Another month has passed and it was full of excellent indie games so here are 12 of the best March indies within unique categories.

Sir Lovelot seemed like a silly 2D platformer but once I got my hands on it, I was very impressed with how tight its controls were which makes earning all of the collectibles and beating levels as quickly as possible an absolute joy. Plus, it’s pretty funny to boot.

Mail Mole 3D Platformer of the Month
Okay, here’s one of the best surprises from March. There aren’t many indie 3D platformers so imagine my surprise when I played Mail Mole and discovered just how much fun it is. Not only are the elaborate stages lovely and challenging to master, you also get fun little races to partake in and a selection of stand-out boss fights. Plus, the amount of variety is excellent so you’ll never get tired while playing through its adorable and charming campaign. In the end, it’s a true indie gem that any 3D platformer fan will love.

Asdivine Cross RPG of the Month
There are quite a few Asdivine games yet Asdivine Cross is the first one I’ve played. I enjoyed it a lot with its focus on party customization, its well-paced campaign, lovely character art and sprites, and now, I want to play the other games in the series!

Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S Puzzle Game of the Month
I love Picross games and Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S offers a lot to the classic puzzle formula with its wide array of fun puzzles, adorable presentation, awesome music, and cool unlockables. A must-have for any Hatsune Miku or Picross fan for sure.

Kart racing games may not be as common as they once were yet Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure brings the genre back to its delightful roots with its tight gameplay and huge assortment of enjoyable tracks to race on. Vector Unit does it again!

Anodyne 2: Return to Dust Casual Game of the Month
Yes, Anodyne 2: Return to Dust is a strange game but it’s also very chill in its trippy game world. Travelling from place to place while occasionally playing through cute 2D segments and watching the world become a better place is rewarding stuff indeed.

Heaven Dust Survival Game of the Month
Heavily inspired by Resident Evil, Heaven Dust is perhaps the best indie survival horror game that I’ve played due to its retro isometric perspective, satisfying puzzles, and strategic inventory management. If you’re a genre fan, you need to check it out.

Curse of the Dead Gods Roguelike of the Month
If you’d like a difficult game that takes a long time to master yet is ultimately rewarding then you should definitely play Curse of the Dead Gods. Its clever light mechanic makes battling intimidating foes quite a grueling endeavour; great for those who love a challenge.

Moose Life Retro-Inspired Game of the Month
As a VR game, Moose Life somehow manages to bring back the spirit of ’80s arcade games in a highly unconventional yet impressively imaginative way. There’s something about popping power-up pills while blasting enemies that just feels awesome.

Yupitergrad VR Game of the Month
Yupitergrad is a ridiculous game with a hilarious story yet the aspect that shines brightest is its use of suction cup launchers for level traversal. Swinging around environments and scaling walls is extremely rewarding and I recommend it to any VR enthusiast.

Moving Out: Movers in Paradise DLC DLC of the Month
Sometimes, DLC makes me have a newfound appreciation for a game and Movers in Paradise is so much fun that I enjoy Moving Out as a whole more now than when I first played it. So, if you want more co-op fun then definitely download the Movers in Paradise DLC.

Kaze and the Wild Masks Indie Game of the Month
Finally, the best indie from March is Kaze and the Wild Masks which is a phenomenal 2D platformer that brings the genre back to its roots while also managing to feel fresh and exciting. It’s challenging without being unfair and any genre veteran will have a blast playing it.
