The <\/span>Pittsburgh Knights<\/span>, the esports organization affiliated with the <\/span>NFL\u2019s<\/span> Pittsburgh Steelers<\/span> franchise, and <\/span>PNC Bank<\/span> have announced that they have extended their sponsorship agreement through 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

PNC will be referred to as a Preferred Banking Partner of Knights Nation. The deal extends the partnership between the esports organization and Pennsylvania\u2019s largest bank, who last year partnered to help address gender inequality in gaming.<\/span><\/p>\n

As an important issue and initiative still for the two companies, they will look to continue the conversation by \u201cproviding a platform\u201d for professionals to educate and share their insights in an effort to break down barriers and \u201clevel the playing field\u201d for women and highlight why diversity is important to the health of the gaming and esports space.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, the initiative tapped experts such as; anupama jain, director of Pittsburgh\u2019s Gender Equity Commission; Sonia Ruef, athletic trainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers; and Aerial Powers, professional basketball player for the WNBA\u2019s Minnesota Lynx, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n
